I have one more day to work before the weekend arrives. It's around lunchtime now and I have nothing much to do so I decided to check my late mother's profile that would normally appear on the website of her department. Too my surprise, yes...her name and profile is still available on the site. Even her picture is shown. It has been three years since my mother passed away and I really miss her so much.
I remember the moment that I needed her the most was when I was about to give birth to my dear baby girl. Wondered how different it would be if she was right there in the delivery room with me and my hubby. The only thing I could think of at that time was to imagine her face in my mind to ease my pain.
My late mother has been working at the same place for more than 23 years. She had lots of both happy and sad memories there. I hope one day insyaAllah, I am able to turn out like her career wise. Somehow, I think people expect me to live up to my mother's standards. Meaning, I have to achieve what my mother achieved in terms of her education and success. I'm just not sure if I can deliver. Praying to Allah so that I'll turn out well and hope that my mother is proud of me.
